Whole House SPDs are installed in the main breaker panel of your residence providing for surge protection for all circuits connected. A green LED indicator shows you that the surge protector is providing protection for all the connected circuits. The SPD is designed for normal Line to Line voltages of 240VAC and Line the Neutral voltages of 120VAC. The SPD is built to handle surge currents up to 185,000 Amps (185kA). Designed with a unique remote display unit that comes with 6 feet of cable or you can optionally purchase additional cables to a maximum of 25 feet. Built using Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV), Transient Voltage Suppression (TVS) Diodes and Gas Discharge Tube (GDT) technology. With the incorporated Overwatch protection circuitry the SPD is capable of reaction speeds in the trillionths of a second and able to survive thousands of repetitive surges. What does the light on the surge protector mean?
Answer: A green light means the surge protector is on and working correctly. there is one light on the main device that you install in your electrical panel and another light on the remote display.
Do I have to use the remote display?
Answer: No, the surge protector will function just fine without the display being connected.
Can I mount this outside?
Answer: No, this device is rated for indoor use only
The instructions say I need to use a circuit breaker with this, what one do I need?
Answer: You will need to connect the surge protector to a 20 amp double pole circuit breaker.
How long of cable is included with the surge protector
Answer: If you mean the wires that connect to the circuit breaker they are 36 inches. If you mean the remote display we include a 6 foot cables but you may purchase additional cables for a total length of 25 feet if needed.
