Max DC Surge Protector 350V

3 stage protection device designed to protect DC electrical systems ONLY (Please verify correct application before ordering).

This device is rated to protect against EMP, ESD, CME, and Lightning damage. The surge protector works like a flood control gate on a lake. On a lake once the water level reaches a maximum level the extra water is diverted and the lake level is maintained at a safe level. The surge protector does this by shunting the extra voltage away from your electrical circuit allowing it to operate as normal.

FAQ

What is the MAXDC350V surge protector used for?

The MAXDC350V is designed to help protect DC electrical circuits and equipment from damaging voltage surges.
It is intended for DC systems operating from 100–325 Volts DC with a
350V protection voltage.

Can the MAXDC350V be used on AC power?

No. The MAXDC350V is for DC electrical systems only. Never connect this DC surge protector
to AC power, as doing so can damage the unit.

How is the MAXDC350V wired?

The MAXDC350V connects in parallel with the DC circuit being protected. Connect the
red wire to the positive (+) side of the DC electrical circuit and the
black wire to the negative (-) side of the DC electrical circuit.

What does the green indicator light mean?

A constant green light means the surge protector is connected properly and operating normally.

What does the red indicator light mean?

A red light means the surge protector needs to be replaced. If the red light remains on after the electrical
system has been checked and the surge protector is reconnected, the surge protector has been damaged and
should be replaced.

What should I do if there is no green light?

If there is no green light, check the wiring connections, polarity, and DC system voltage. Make sure the
red wire is connected to positive (+), the black wire is connected to negative (-), and the circuit has power.

Is the MAXDC350V waterproof?

The MAXDC350V is IP64 rated, meaning it is resistant to dust and water spray, but it should
not be submerged in water. Installation in a clean, protected location is recommended.

What is the surge rating of the MAXDC350V?

The MAXDC350V has a 500kA pulsed surge rating, designed to help protect DC electrical systems
from damaging surge events.

Can this surge protector be installed outdoors?

Yes, it may be installed in locations where it can get wet, but it should not be submerged. Avoid installing it
near extreme heat, extreme cold, or areas where the wiring may be damaged.

Will the MAXDC350V protect against direct power-line contact?

No. This device is not designed to prevent damage caused by direct electrical wire contact, direct utility line
contact, incorrect wiring, or sustained overvoltage conditions.

Does the MAXDC350V have a warranty?

Yes. The MAXDC350V includes a 5-year limited manufacturer warranty. Product registration is
recommended at BadWolfUSA.com/register.

When should the MAXDC350V be replaced?

Replace the unit if the red indicator light remains on after the electrical system has been inspected and the
surge protector is reconnected. A red light indicates the surge protector has taken damage and is no longer in
normal operating condition.
